Part B. CV SUMMARY (max. 3500 characters, including spaces)
During my PhD my research focused on the analysis of the effects of fertilization and herbivore pressure on the phytoplankton community through experimental techniques in situ. Later I trained culture of algal species and microinvertebrates and laboratory experimentation during my postdoctoral stay. These techniques were applied to return to Spain by setting up the culture laboratories that still exist today and have allowed me to tackle different research works focused on the purification of wastewater and life cycles of cladoceran species. This last aspect has occupied an important part of my research in recent years and led me, through the study of forms of resistance, to the investigation of lake sediment.
In addition, during the last 15 years I have worked in several projects focused on the diversity of organisms in different aquatic ecosystems.
I have recently started a new line of research dedicated to Paleolimnology and focused on studies in alpine lakes during the Anthropocene, for which I made a stay at PEARL (Canada).
